We are looking for a detail-oriented File Clerk to support a busy CPA firm in Charleston, South Carolina during tax season. This long-term contract position is ideal for someone who works efficiently with high volumes of paperwork and enjoys keeping records accurate, accessible, and well organized. The person in this role will help ensure documents are properly scanned, sorted, and maintained so the office can operate smoothly throughout the engagement.

Responsibilities:

• Scan paper documents accurately and convert them into organized electronic records for daily use.

• Sort, label, and file physical paperwork to keep records easy to retrieve and properly maintained.

• Review documents before processing to confirm pages are complete, legible, and ready for storage.

• Maintain both paper and digital filing systems in a consistent and orderly manner.

• Retrieve requested files promptly to support staff during high-volume tax season activities.

• Organize large batches of client and administrative documents while following established filing procedures.

• Perform general clerical support tasks related to document handling and record upkeep

• Previous experience in filing, scanning, or other clerical support work.
• Ability to manage both physical records and electronic files with strong attention to detail.
• Comfortable working with document scanning equipment and standard office technology.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to keep files accurate and easy to locate.
• Capable of handling repetitive tasks efficiently while maintaining quality and consistency.
• Reliable attendance and availability to work Monday through Friday through mid-April.
• Detail-oriented approach to handling sensitive documents in an office environment.
